G McFadden Civil Engineers Ltd was appointed by Tarmac to deliver the A34 Perry Barr
Improvement Scheme, a key project designed to reduce congestion and improve traffic
flow for both vehicles and bus routes, while also enhancing the area’s aesthetics. The
project scope included:

Realigning a 200m section of Aldridge Road to accommodate a new bus route and
cycleway.

Installing a new bus route and bus stop along the shop frontage, along with new granite
pavements to enhance the area’s visual appeal.

This project successfully improved both traffic management and the local environment,
benefiting both motorists and pedestrians
